Malaysia keeps entry simple for Indian travellers, but a few documents and habits make immigration and the trip smooth.

Leave behind / avoidLocal laws and etiquette to respect
- Drugs of any kind — Malaysia has some of the strictest drug laws in the world, including the death penalty.
- Durian in hotels and public transport — it is banned for its smell; enjoy it at street stalls instead.
- Littering, jaywalking and smoking in restaurants or indoor public areas attract on-the-spot fines.
- Revealing clothes at mosques and temples — shoulders and knees must be covered; robes are lent at the entrance.
- Overpacking winter wear — only Genting needs a light jacket.
- Carrying large amounts of cash — cards and eWallets work almost everywhere.
